Make MOCEANS Support Coordination Part of Your Network

Our agency is dedicated to delivering the information and resources that empower individuals living with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live a life of independence and fulfillment that they choose. Businesses, organizations, and individuals in the community who provide services that help those individuals are a vital part of the MOCEANS mission.

We want our community to be inclusive of the services and supports that makeup Monmouth and Ocean Counties. Having strong relationships with Service Providers enables MOCEANS Support Coordinators to increase the choices that are available to the individuals we work with. It also serves to improve their satisfaction with our supports and services. And that is what it’s all about.

MOCEANS works with our network of Service Providers to share information and resources. That leads to:

  • Better information and referrals
  • A more vibrant and energized community
  • Higher satisfaction for individuals, their families, and other natural supports.

We encourage any Service Providers and businesses in Monmouth and Ocean counties to get to know MOCEANS:

  • NJDDD Service Providers
  • Social Workers and Therapists
  • Non-Profit Organizations
  • Artists
  • Gyms
  • And More!

Connect With MOCEANS Support Coordination

Our holistic approach means incorporating services that enrich lives on an intellectual, emotional, and spiritual level as well as providing physical, social, and occupational support individuals want to work towards and achieve their goals.

That means that our agency depends on strong relationships in the community. Our Support Coordinators are advocates in action. They are driven to discover the best resources and develop relationships that make our agency the best advocate for individuals living with disabilities.

If you’re part of a business or non-profit organization, we want to get to know you and learn about what you do.

Connections → Community → Better Services and Supports

MOCEANS has been a part of the community for more than 30 years. We are a grassroots non-profit organization that calls Monmouth and Ocean Counties home. From top to bottom, we are an organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals living with intellectual and developmental disabilities. More than 51% of our Staff and Board of Directors are individuals living with disabilities.

Our agency has grown and evolved over time. The relationships we have built in the community and what we have learned from them has made us better at what we do. This has also made us a better partner to the Service Providers we work with.

The four pillars of our approach to Support Coordination Services make us better advocates for the individuals and families we serve. Service Providers who join our community benefit as well. We build our approach on the pillars of:

  • Relationships
  • Advocacy
  • Training
  • Quality

Relationships Built on Respect

MOCEANS is a comprehensive Center for Independent Living. That means that in addition to Support Coordination Services, we can offer individuals a full range of complementary services and supports that include:

  • Advocacy
  • Information and Referral
  • Peer Support
  • Independent Living Skills Instruction
  • Youth Transition Services

With all that we offer—we still know how much more it takes to connect people with the information, resources, and services they want and need.

We couldn’t do what we do without an extensive network of professional relationships built on mutual respect and reciprocity.

The Advantage of Advocacy in Action

MOCEANS Support Coordinators go above and beyond. They do whatever it takes to connect an individual with information, resources, services, or supports that will help them realize the life they envision for themselves.

Sometimes being an advocate for the individuals we work with means being the voice that speaks in conjunction with them to organizations, medical providers, and other service providers. Helping secure approval for funding of services is part of what we do.

Teaching and Learning

MOCEANS Support Coordinators are dedicated to continuous learning and training. That is how we make sure that we are always getting better at what we do. We are happy to share what we have learned with Service Providers and we are just as excited whenever Service Providers teach us what we need to know about the work that they do.

MOCEANS Support Coordination hosts live and virtual events. We share information with the community. We conduct research and offer referrals. We have built a library of resources to help everyone learn what they need to know to become better advocates for themselves and others.

A Commitment to Quality and Accountability

It’s easy to make claims about quality. But the proof is in the pudding. Relationships built on trust and respect take time to grow. Experience and expertise don’t happen overnight. Communities have to be nurtured. We believe that actions speak louder than words and that the results we deliver to the individuals we serve will speak for our agency.

Our process includes multiple layers of quality assurance to ensure that we are meeting the standards that we have set for ourselves. We welcome feedback from our partners. We embrace every opportunity to learn something that will help us do a better job. We are dedicated to serving the individuals in Monmouth and Ocean Counties living with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
